This is the finest Malvasia yet made under the Vina Laguna Festigia label, from a sought after parcel of vines in a magical position, between hill towns that rival Piedmonte’s for truffles, Umbria’s for a mystic quality, and both for wine.

Here, close to the coast of Western Istria, we find white soils and perfect sun exposure, tempered by onshore breezes during the crucial ripening period, to bring out both richness and freshness from this classic indigenous grape, known elsewhere but defined as Malvasia Istriana.

Meticulous vine-tending and grape-picking by hand, coupled with ruthless selection, delivered outstanding raw material to the winemakers, which they respected.

A bouquet of pressed wild flowers and stone fruit foretells a concentration of Malvasia flavours, intense yet bright, with a long, elegant finish. This wine deserves a fine turbot but can stand on its own, toasting the lightness of being Istria – lakoca!
