Agrolaguna vineyards hosted a ceremony to present the new, redesigned Vina Laguna line.
Yesterday, the beautiful scenery of Agrolaguna vineyard viewpoint in Poreč hosted a ceremony to present the new, redesigned line of Vina Laguna. The guests were welcomed by Istrian music and specialties and a few welcoming words by Agrokor’s Vice President Ljerka Puljić and Goran Kramarić, Chairman of the Management Board of Agrolaguna.
Upon Agrokor concern becoming a part of Agrolaguna’s ownership structure, over EUR 25 million was invested in the company what made Agrolaguna the largest agricultural company in Istria. Over 500 hectares of vineyards were restored and cultivated, and a wine cellar and bottling facility were completely technologically reconstructed. A seven-kilometre-long Vina Laguna wine road and the viewpoint and wine tasting room were built in the vineyard in Funtana. These investments created excellent conditions to produce high-quality wines, cheeses and oils, and made Agrolaguna a new attractive tourist destination visited by over 20,000 tourists a year.
In the last three years, special attention was paid to the quality of malvasia that reflects Istrian tale, lightness and freshness of the Istrian temperate climate. In cooperation with top experts, such as a professor Ferrarini from the Department of Sciences, Technology and Market of Vines and Wines at the University of Verona, the quality of this famous Istrian variety was improved, and malvasia of Vina Laguna has rightfully taken its place among the world’s best, which is a general feature of the new Laguna Wines brand. The evidence of excellence include numerous prizes and awards at national and international wine competitions, won by Vina Laguna during the short period of brand existence. Vina Laguna Festigia Malvasia 2011 won a gold medal at this year’s Vinistra, which represents a remarkable success. As for the international scene, a quality wine Vina Laguna Malvasia 2011 was awarded with a gold medal at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition in Rochester, New York, the USA, in competition with 3200 assessed samples from around the world.
The lightness of being in Istria – is a guideline and the message of the story about Vina Laguna brand. The ceremonial presentation at the viewpoint of Vina Laguna vineyards was also a premiere of the ultra premium line Vina Laguna Festigia Riserva that has surpassed all previous wine delights from Agrolaguna wine cellars with its two wine labels, Malvazija and Cabernet Sauvignon. While Vina Laguna epitomizes the informal enjoyment under the Istrian sky, Vina Laguna Festigia unites taste and civilized hedonism.
On this occasion, the guests enjoyed the traditional dishes and selected wines of Vina Laguna brand with a new, fresh and refined appearance presented by the oenologist of Vina Laguna, Mr. Ante Gavranić.
